Kyte, a US car rental startup, provides innovative door-to-door services designed to help solve vehicle supply chain constraints caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and lack of semiconductors.

Reserve cars on-demand through its mobile app or website, and if you want, the company bypasses the shortage of rental cars by picking up cars from multiple sources including fleets, rentals, traditional rental companies, and directly from car manufacturers .

Kyte does not rely on the physical stores of traditional car rental companies. “We support mobile booking, online verification, payment and driver license verification, so we not only improved the booking process, but also skipped the rental counter process entirely,” said co-founder Ludwig Schoenack.

With Kyte, you can choose the desired pick-up window and location. After booking, the company will send a delivery driver to provide a clean, disinfected car at the requested time, and then you can set off. In an interview with Forbes, Mr. Schoenack explained that when you are ready, the car will pick up the car at the place you want.

Kyte is headquartered in San Francisco and is currently available for sale in 11 locations in the United States, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. It also has a European office in Munich.
